Areas of Operation: Where Zero Ops Takes You
Four official AORs: Brazil, Algeria, Russia and Albania. Each one has its own terrain, weather and look. Here's what they are and where we're taking them.
News › Areas of Operation: Where Zero Ops Takes You

Every mission in Zero Ops happens inside an Area of Operation (AOR). We've locked in four official AORs for the game. Each one is built to look and play differently, with its own terrain, light and sightlines, and a regional look for your operator.
BRAZIL (JUNGLE): Dense canopy, low light and close contact. Brazil is about moving quietly through thick cover, where you'll often hear the enemy before you see them.
ALGERIA (DESERT): Sun-baked streets, tight alleys, rooftops and long sightlines. Hard light and deep shadows make every corner a decision.
RUSSIA (SNOW): Frozen compounds, timber barracks and watchtowers. The ground between buildings is cold, open and short on cover, so every crossing counts.
ALBANIA (WET): Dark, wet and close to the water. Night operations, rain-slick ground and fog, where a silhouette or a splash can give you away.
WHAT WE'RE PLANNING
More than one battlefield per AOR. Each AOR is a home for a set of maps, not a single one, so every region has room to grow.
Regional gear. Your operator's kit ties into the AOR, and new gear will be released for each AOR over time. There's more customization on the way that we're not ready to show yet.
Atmosphere that changes the fight. Light, fog and weather are part of how each AOR plays, not just how it looks.
Rolling out through alpha. AORs will reach alpha testers in stages as they're ready, and your feedback will shape them before launch.
ABOUT THESE IMAGES
Every image here is an alpha in-game capture from Unreal Engine 5. Nothing is a mockup or pre-rendered. It's still very much a work in progress. We're fixing plenty, including how operators hold their weapons (support-hand grip placement and hand offsets), animation polish, lighting and performance. Expect things to look MUCH different by launch.
